Down on evangelicals?
Christians might be getting a bad rap thanks in part to the media. Some Christian leaders are up in arms over this and think it needs to change.![]()
They may be onto something. How often are Christians portrayed on the big and little screen as intelligent, giving, honest and non-judgmental? In other words how often are followers of Christ presented in a positive light?
We’re looking for examples, post them here.
The decision is overturned
Prior to the Super Bowl in 2007 churches across the nation were notified that they could not show the Super Bowl on large-screen televisions because it infringed on the National Football League’s copyrights in broadcast. According to a press release from the Rutherford Institute that is not the case anymore.![]()
“NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has stated that the league will not object to live showings of the Super Bowl by religious organizations,” reads the press release, “regardless of screen size, as long as the viewings are free and are on premises that the church uses on a routine and customary basis.”
That’s a touchdown for many churches who use the Super Bowl to get people into church who normally don’t go to church.

Death of artist
“I should never have had an abortion. I see now I would have been a good mum,” reads a note left by a woman who hanged herself in early February after aborting eight-week old twins.
The article brings up a host of questions. If you believe life begins at conception it also drives home the point that abortion always ends in death — and unfortunately in this case three deaths occurred.
