Be sure to check out www.fleebabylon.com

There are great non denominational resources for lukewarm, wordly, falsely converted, and apostate evengelical church members in America. (Probably 90% of our pews and 80% of our pulpits on any given Sunday morning)

There are some important prophetic warnings from David Wilkerson that echo those he delivered to the general council some years ago too.

In Christ-

Hi Kirk,
read a story by you in TPE this morning. Saw your blog address and stopped by to see if you had an email address here. Guess not, so I'm posting a comment. Interesting review of the Shack. I also reviewed that for The Christian Pulse. I'd love to have you check out my latest novel - starring the son of a AG pastor. It is called Reforming the Potter's Clay and is a magick versus miracles novel which goes after Harry Potter and Pottermania.
    Take care!

As a barista for Starbucks I can tell you I haven't seen a decrease in our regular customers. I have been amazed at the devotion of these "regulars", come rain or shine, 7 days a week, sometimes twice a day, we see the same faces. It isn't just the addictive substance we are peddaling that keeps them coming back, it is the recognition.

Our world is full of lonley people that have to go to a retail store to have someone look them in the eye, call them by name and remember their drink. As a christian, I have often felt convicted. Prior to my employment with Starbucks I had no idea the great hunger in each of us for community, someone to care.

What a difference it would make if people didn't have to pay to be remembered. It is because of this, that the $3 to $6 dropped on a daily basis by this demographic will never decline.

Loving people one at a time, remembering their name and peddaling Christ's love will keep them coming back for more.

Our enemy does'nt care HOW much truth you know,as long as you don't know the truth that can SAVE YOU! the rise of the false church? yup!

There are times when I'm on a plane, in a taxi, on a train, walking in the park, driving past a stranded motorist or even at a social event when I sense that voice urging me...actually... demanding me to check in with the needy soul beside me and talk about Christ. I think I'm not alone in that experience...I'm enjoying my book, thinking about the things I have to do, mindlessly living in the moment and I ask the Lord "Do I have to?" I try to ignore it sometimes and even question the source of that urge to share. There are times when I do fail to follow those commands. Reasons vary from fear of being wrong, fear of being thought a kook or my own selfish desire to cocoon myself. But there are the times that I heed the call and reach out. When I do, I am indeed sometimes thought of as a kook, but most often, I feel that I have pleased God. I feel comfort in knowing that now, the spiritual mechanism of Jesus' love has been embedded in that person(s) psyche. I realize that it was not about me at all and I feel okay even if I am thought a kook. There is no one thing that can distract me from that feeling, except my own weak self. I may ignore it, but I can't make it go away no matter what I am choosing to distract myself with. So, what if...I'm on a plane and a fellow traveler looks over my shoulder and sees my book mark for Kirk's blog on my computer screen? What if they saw my screen light up with the images from an action-packed game...either may spark interest in that person and facilitate that call from God. I will pray that I am strong enough to heed that call no matter what I'm doing or where I'm doing it.

While I wouldn't say we helped create the economic beast, we sure have fallen prey to it! Our leaders of our nation have failed to provide leadership and a positive example to "the people" as it relates to the handeling of money. Corporate America has aggressively pursued "the people" because they know we want what we can't afford and they come to the rescue offering credit to those that can't afford to pay cash.

Yes, we may have become unwilling prey at first, but how many times do we have to fall for the same old tricks before we wake up and smell the coffee?

Ridiculous! If anyone thinks that christian "rock" belongs on mainstream TV, then we better remove any talk of those "made up" dinosaurs from school classrooms!

Preposterous. And it's hard to imagine that each contestant singing those words out to "the lord" really felt okay with the message.

We were shocked in my house, and can only imagine that the show's producers have decided they need a way to attract more old, conservative viewers to the show - one of the few markets where they're likely lacking. Hate to say it folks, but this was not a religous declaration so much as a flubbed attempt to gain market share in an overly conservative country. Shame on you Idol - your weak strategy is see-through.

I was wondering if I just "misheard" they lyric change last night until I watched a clip and listened to it again. I was grieved all day today at the cunning and subtle "politically correct" version. Jesus is the only way! He's not just a shepherd, but He is THE SAVIOR! Satan comes as an angel of light. Oh! How we must be full of God's Spirit to discern!
